A Short Biography:
Jeff Abramson has recently joined the faculty of UCLA in January of 2005. Although his primary training is in Biochemistry and Structural Biology he was recruited by the Department of Physiology. Dr. Abramson earned his B.S. in Biotechnology at California Polytechnic University Pomona and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry at Uppsala University, Sweden. He then went to Imperial College London for his postdoctoral training where he furthered his skills in membrane protein crystallography. Dr. Abramson is currently collaborating with a number of groups within the Department of Physiology where he is utilizing robotics for crystallization as well as visualization in order to increase throughput of membrane protein structures.
