Dr. Amer Karam is a gynecologic and surgical oncologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with breast and/or gynecologic cancer. Dr. Karam returned to UCLA after completing his training in breast surgery at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and gynecologic oncology at UCLA and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He is uniquely qualified to treat and diagnose patients with hereditary breast and/or ovarian cancer as well as patients at high risk of developing breast cancer. His ground-breaking training gives him unparalleled insight into the treatment of women with cancer. Dr. Karam offers many options for the treatment of patients with breast cancer including: sentinel lymph node biopsy, breast conserving surgery as well as skin and nipple-sparing mastectomy. He also offers many treatment options for the surgical treatment of gynecologic malignancies including: radical ovarian cancer surgery and the latest advances in minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery.
