Dr. Michael F. McNitt-Gray received his BSEE from Washington University in St. Louis in 1979, His MSEE from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh in 1980 and then worked as an electrical engineer for several years before coming to UCLA and completing his Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Physics in 1993. Dr. McNitt-Gray is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiological Sciences at UCLA who's professional interests are: Research in the areas of computed tomography image acquisition, physics and image analysis, primarily using image processing and pattern classification techniques to analyze radiological images. He is the current Program Chair for the Interdepartmental Graduate Program in Biomedical Physics. He is certified by the American Board of Radiology in the field of Diagnostic Medical Physics, is a member of the American College of Radiology's (ACR) CT accreditation committee and a member of the International Commission on Radiological Units and Protection (ICRU) committee on Image Quality and Patient Dose from Computed Tomography.
