Michael McNitt-Gray, Ph.D.

A Short Biography:

Dr. Michael F. McNitt-Gray received his BSEE from Washington University in St. Louis in 1979, his MSEE from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh in 1980 and then worked as an electrical engineer for several years before coming to UCLA and completing his Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Physics in 1993. Dr. McNitt-Gray is a Professor in the Department of Radiological Sciences at UCLA and does research in the areas of computed tomography image acquisition, physics and image analysis, primarily using image processing and machine learning techniques to analyze radiological images. He is the current Director of the Physics and BIology in Medicine (PBM) Interdepartmental Graduate Program, which is one of the Home Areas of the Graduate Programs in Biosciences (GPB). He also serves as the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Research for Radiation Safety. He is certified by the American Board of Radiology in the field of Diagnostic Medical Physics and is a Fellow of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) as well as a Fellow of the American College of Radiology (ACR). He is currently the President and Chair of the Board of the Commission for Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs (CAMPEP) and serves on the Graduate Education Program Review Committee (GEPRC) of CAMPEP.

Detailed Biography:

Dr. Michael F.
