Kenneth Subotnik, Ph.D. is a Research Psychologist and Adjunct Professor of the Department of Psychiatry & Biobehavioral Sciences. He is the Associate Director of the Aftercare Research Program, and co-Director of the Chronic Schizophrenia Recruitment and Assessment Core. He received his Ph.D. from the UCLA Department of Psychology in 1990. His areas of special research interest include, the examination of psychometric vulnerability indicators in schizophrenia patients and their family members, with a focus on measures such as
- the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI);
- the examination of formal thought disorder and its relationship to neurocognitive and neuroanatomical abnormalities;
- the early course of ?positive? and ?negative? schizophrenia symptoms and their clinical correlates;
- the examination of psychological factors affecting medication adherence, such as insight and attitudes toward antipsychotic medication.
