Dr. Cassarino is a Dermatopathologist and Surgical Pathologist. His primary clinical and research interests are in diseases of the skin, especially cutaneous malignancies including melanoma.

Detailed Biography:

Dr. Cassarino did his medical school and Ph.D. training at the University of Virginia, and his Pathology residencey training at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. He went on to complete a Dermatopathology Fellowship at the University of California, Irvine, under Dr. Ronald Barr, and then worked as an attending physician at Stanford University for 3 years before moving to UCLA. He has published numerous papers on cutaneous pathology, especially in the realm of cutaneous neoplasia. He is also actively engaged in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, and gives lectures on Dermatopathology at many national meetings.
