Dr. HuÂ’s research interest is to investigate the role of microRNAs in the DNA damage response for cancer. Of particularly, his laboratory focuses on the functions of ATM-related microRNAs in cell cycle checkpoints, DNA repair and DNA damage-induced apoptosis. Furthermore, they will use breast cancer stem/initiating cells as a model to study the role of these microRNAs in radio/chemo-sensitivity, which might provide new therapeutic targets for radioresistant/chemoresistant cancers. In addition, they are also interested in developing small molecule readthrough compounds with Ataxia Telangiectasia iPSCs as models for treating human genetic diseases such as Ataxia-Telangiectasia.
