A Short Biography:

Latisha Katie Ali, MD, is Director of the UCLA TeleStroke Program, Associate Director Vascular Neurology Residency Program and an Associate Professor of Neurology at the David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Ali attended medical school and completed her neurology residency at Indiana University. She did her medical internship at Temple University in Philadelphia. Dr. Ali completed her Vascular Neurology fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles. The American Academy of Neurology awarded her a Clinical Research Training Fellowship. Dr. Ali has been was named one of Southern California Rising Stars for the past 3 years. Dr. Ali was elected as a Fellow of the American Heart Association. She was recently awarded the American Heart Association Bugher Foundation Award to further her research in ischemic preconditioning. In addition to serving as an investigator for numerous studies at UCLA, Dr. Ali has authored or co-authored several articles for professional journals. Dr. Ali’s research interests are in telemedicine, ischemic preconditioning and stroke prevention. Dr. Ali holds many leadership positions in national stroke studies and organizations. She is the Co-Chair of the Los Angeles Stroke Society. She is the site principal investigator multiple clinical trials including the NIH funded ERICH trial and BI funded RESPECT-ESUS trial. Dr. Ali is a peer reviewer for the American Stroke Association and a member of the AHA Region III Steering Committee and the California Stroke Registry Committee.
